Malabanan guide
Grease trap cleaning guide for restaurants and canteens
Every food business produces grease. A grease trap catches it before it hardens inside your pipes — but only if the trap itself is cleaned regularly.

How often to clean
Busy restaurants and commissaries usually need cleaning every few weeks to every month. Smaller food stalls may go longer. A good rule: clean before the grease and solids fill about a quarter of the trap.
Signs your grease trap is full
- Strong grease or sour smell in the kitchen
- Kitchen sinks and floor drains are slow
- Grease visible coming out of the outlet or floor drain
- Pests around the kitchen drains
