Malabanan guide
7 signs your septic tank is full and needs Malabanan siphoning
A septic tank (pozo negro) fills up slowly over the years. By the time sewage backs up into the house, the problem is already serious. Watch for these early signs.

The warning signs
If you notice two or more of these, schedule siphoning soon:
- The toilet flushes slowly or the water rises before going down
- Gurgling sounds from drains or the toilet
- Bad smell around the manhole, floor drains or outside the house
- Water or wet, soft ground over the septic area
- Floor drains backing up, especially after heavy rain
- Several drains are slow at the same time
- It has been more than 3 to 5 years since the last siphoning
Why you should not wait
When the tank is full, solids flow into the pipes and the drainage, causing clogs that are harder and more costly to fix. Overflowing sewage is also a health risk for your family and neighbors.
Is it a full tank or just a clog?
If only one drain is slow, it is usually a clog in that pipe — declogging fixes it. If many drains are slow and there is odor near the manhole, the tank is likely full. Our crew checks both and tells you which one you need.
